What is Plimber
Cutting down trees to produce timber for construction and wood for furniture causes deforestation. Deforestation has been identified as one of the leading causes of global warming and climate change. On the other hand, the menace of huge plastic waste ending up in our landfills and oceans continues to pollute our environment and wreak havoc to marine life.
Plimber is a synthetic wood researched and developed by Ubuntu Plastic Composites as a solution to the twin problem of huge global plastic wastes and deforestation. Plimber is strong, durable, environmentally friendly and resistant to moisture, rot and pest infestation.
What is Plick
Construction and demolition waste constitute a big challenge for recycling. They need to be sorted and crushed to smaller components for their different materials such as: Concretes, bricks, wood, iron, sand, plastic etc. Materials recovered from these waste need to be repurpose to save them from ending up in landfills and polluting the environment. Sand Plastic Composites (SPC) were developed using waste plastics, sand, bottles and other suitable waste materials. Our flagship SPC product was called Plicks as it was intended as a better alternative to bricks produced from virgin materials. Plicks are approximately 3 times lighter in weight than bricks of similar sizes and more than 5 times stronger than the traditional bricks. Other products in our SPC line are plastic tiles which we called Plites. We have developed both roofing Plites and floor Plites as better alternatives for roofing and flooring solutions.
